§ 27-163. Disposal of septic tank pumpings and restaurant grease trap pumpings.

  • (a)

    Applicability. This section is applicable to the disposal of parish residential septic tank pumpings and pumpings from grease traps from restaurants and other dining establishments located within the parish. Waste from other sources shall not be accepted, and waste will only be accepted from licensed haulers.

    (b)

    Charges. A fee of $25.00 shall be charged for each load of up to 1,000 gallons of septic tank pumpings delivered to the city sewer treatment plant. An additional fee of $5.00 per 1,000 gallons shall be charged for each load over 1,000 gallons.

    (c)

    Agreement. Each licensed hauler of septic tank pumpings shall enter into an agreement with the city before disposing of any septic tank pumpings into the city sewer treatment plant. Haulers who fail to follow the terms of such agreement shall be prohibited from disposing of waste in the city sewer treatment plant. The agreement shall require the hauler to certify the origin of each load.

    (d)

    Hours of operation. Haulers will only be permitted to dump pumpings at the city sewer treatment plant during the hours from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Haulers will not be permitted to dump on legal holidays.
