§ 20-17. Composition.

  • (a)

    The planning commission shall consist of seven full members who shall be appointed by the board of aldermen, which may remove any member of the planning commission, after a public hearing, for inefficiency, neglect of duty or malfeasance in office, except that if a member violates the attendance requirement of section 20-21(b), there shall not be a public hearing, unless that member requests such hearing.

    (b)

    The planning commission may also be assisted and advised by five ex officio members who shall have all rights and privileges of full members of the planning commission, except the right and privilege of being chair and voting on matters presented to the planning commission. The ex officio members may be selected from each of the following bodies, provided the body chooses to participate:

    (1)

    Lincoln Parish Police Jury;

    (2)

    Lincoln Parish School Board;

    (3)

    Board of aldermen;

    (4)

    Ruston/Lincoln Chamber of Commerce; and

    (5)

    Ruston Board of Realtors.
