§ 12-1. Delineation of district boundaries.

  • The city is divided into five board of aldermen districts, and the boundaries of such districts shall be as follows:

    (1)

    District 1. Beginning at the intersection of Vienna Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167) and the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad, thence proceed southerly along Vienna Street to its intersection with East Vaughn Avenue, thence easterly along East Vaughn Avenue to its intersection with South Farmerville Street, thence southerly along South Farmerville Street to its intersection with East Tennessee Avenue, thence across East Tennessee Avenue on a line extension from Farmerville Street to its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, thence in a generally westerly direction along the southwestern portion of the corporate limits of the City of Ruston to its intersection with West California Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80), thence northeasterly along West California Avenue to its intersection with Adams Boulevard, thence northerly along Adams Boulevard to its intersection with West Arizona Avenue, thence northwesterly along the former West Arizona Avenue, now known as Centennial Plaza, to its intersection with Wisteria Street, thence northerly along Wisteria Street to its intersection with Railroad Avenue, thence easterly along Railroad Avenue to its intersection with Everett Street, thence northerly along Everett Street to its intersection with the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad, thence proceed easterly along the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad to its intersection with Vienna Street (U.S. Highway 167), and the point of beginning.

    District 2. Beginning at the intersection of the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad and Vienna Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167), thence proceed southerly along Vienna Street to its intersection with East Vaughn Avenue, then easterly along East Vaughn Avenue to its intersection with South Farmerville Street, thence southerly along South Farmerville Street to its intersection with East Tennessee Avenue, thence across East Tennessee Avenue on a line extension from South Farmerville Street to its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, thence proceed in a generally easterly and northerly direction along the southeastern corporate limits of the City of Ruston to its intersection with the centerline of East Georgia Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80), thence proceed westerly along the centerline of East Georgia Avenue to its intersection with Farmerville Highway (also known as LA Highway 33), thence continue westerly along East Georgia Avenue to its intersection with Center Street, thence northerly along Center Street to its intersection with Eugene Drive, thence westerly along Eugene Drive to its intersection with North Farmerville Street, thence northerly along North Farmerville Street to its intersection with Maryland Avenue, thence proceed westerly along Maryland Avenue to its intersection with North Monroe Street, thence northerly along North Monroe Street to its intersection with Lamar Avenue, thence westerly along Lamar Avenue to its intersection with Boyce Street, thence northerly along Boyce Street to its intersection with Lee Avenue, thence westerly along Lee Avenue to its intersection with Baldwin Street, thence northerly along Baldwin Street to its intersection with the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road; thence proceed westerly along the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road to its intersection with James Street, thence southerly along James Street to its intersection with Lee Avenue, thence easterly along Lee Avenue to its intersection with Everett Street, thence southerly along Everett Street to its intersection with Carolina Avenue, thence easterly along Carolina Avenue to its intersection with Vienna Street (U.S. Highway 167), thence proceed southerly along Vienna Street to its intersection with the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad, and the point of beginning.

Beginning at the intersection of Maryland Avenue and North Monroe Street, thence proceed northerly along North Monroe Street to its intersection with Lamar Avenue, thence westerly along Lamar Avenue to its intersection with Boyce Street, thence northerly along Boyce Street to its intersection with Lee Avenue, thence westerly along Lee Avenue to its intersection with Baldwin Street, thence northerly along Baldwin Street to its intersection with the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road, thence proceed easterly along the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road to its intersection with Vienna Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167), thence proceed northerly along Vienna Street to its intersection with North Trenton Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167), thence northerly along North Trenton Street (U.S. Highway 167) to its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, thence proceed in a generally southerly direction along the northeastern corporate limits of the City of Ruston to its intersection with the south right-of-way line of East Georgia Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80), thence proceed westerly along the south right-of-way line of East Georgia Avenue to its intersection with the District 2 boundary at the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, thence proceed northerly along a line extension of said corporate limits to its intersection with the centerline of East Georgia Avenue (U.S. Highway 80); thence proceed westerly along the center line of East Georgia Avenue to its intersection with Farmerville Highway (also known as LA Highway 33), thence continue westerly along East Georgia Avenue to its intersection with Center Street, thence northerly along Center Street to its intersection with Eugene Drive, thence westerly along Eugene Drive to its intersection with North Farmerville Street, thence northerly along North Farmerville Street to its intersection with Maryland Avenue, thence proceed westerly along Maryland Avenue to its intersection with North Monroe Street, and the point of beginning.

Beginning at the intersection of Vienna Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167) and the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad, thence proceed westerly along the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad to its intersection with Everett Street, thence southerly along Everett Street to its intersection with Railroad Avenue, thence westerly along Railroad Avenue to its intersection with Wisteria Street, thence southerly along Wisteria Street to its intersection with the former West Arizona Avenue, now known as Centennial Plaza, thence easterly along the former West Arizona Avenue to its intersection with Adams Boulevard, thence southerly along Adams Boulevard to its intersection with West California Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80), thence westerly along West California Avenue to its intersection with Tech Drive, then northerly along Tech Drive to its intersection with the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road, thence proceed westerly along the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road to its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, thence proceed in a generally northerly and easterly direction along the northwestern corporate limits of the City of Ruston to its intersection with North Trenton Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167), thence proceed southerly along North Trenton Street to its intersection with Vienna Street, thence southerly along Vienna Street (also known as U.S. Highway 167) to its intersection with the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road; thence proceed westerly along the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road to its intersection with James Street, thence southerly along James Street to its intersection with Lee Avenue, thence easterly along Lee Avenue to its intersection with Everett Street, thence southerly along Everett Street to its intersection with Carolina Avenue, thence easterly along Carolina Avenue to its intersection with Vienna Street (U.S. Highway 167), thence proceed southerly along Vienna Street to its intersection with the centerline of Kansas City Southern Railroad, and the point of beginning.

Beginning at the intersection of Tech Drive and West California Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80) thence proceed southwesterly along West California Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80) to its intersection with the corporate limits of the City of Ruston, thence in a generally northerly direction along the southwestern corporate limits of the City of Ruston to its intersection with the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road, thence easterly along the Interstate Highway 20 South Service Road to its intersection with Tech Drive, Tech Drive to its intersection with West California Avenue (also known as U.S. Highway 80), and the point of beginning.
